Terry VanHorn of Jamestown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Friday, May 10 at the age of 72. He is proceeded to heaven by his wife Janice (Jack). He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Angie (Davis); his two grandsons David and Kaleb; and his step-children Debbie (David) Craycraft and Don (Angie) VanTress and their families.
After serving in the United States Air Force, a life-long love of electronics led to a career at multiple companies, including AT&T and Hyde Park Electronics. After retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandsons play football, going to the Zoo, reading as much as he could about pretty much everything, spending time with his cat Fred Jack, and complaining about politicians on television. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 15 at 1:00pm-2pm at Powers-Kell Funeral Home in Jamestown, Ohio with graveside service immediately following at Silvercreek II Cemetery also in Jamestown.
In lieu of flowers, Terry’s family suggests that those who wish to can send donations in his name to Greene Medical Foundation, 1141 N. Monroe Dr., Xenia, OH 45385 and put “Nurses Fund” in the memo, to honor the heartfelt care given to him on multiple occasions by the nurses at Greene Memorial Hospital.
