Gretchen was raised in Wilmington, Ohio and at a young age wanted to be a Funeral Director. Gretchen graduated in 2003 from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a bachelor's degree in mortuary science and is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer of the State of Ohio.
After serving her apprentice under Jeff Powers, she worked for Powers Funeral Home for 11 years. For the last 6 years she has served as a "trade embalmer" for her own firm Kell Mortuary Service as well as continuing to work at Powers.
She has embalmed for many, many funeral homes with-in the state of Ohio and many other adjoining states. She is known for her close attention of details and outstanding achievements of the practice of embalming.
Director of Operations
Michael was born in Jamestown and raised in Sabina, Ohio. At the age of 13 he always had a desire to work in the Funeral Business. He has worked for several funeral homes in the Southwestern Ohio area. He attended Bible School and College in West Virginia. Michael was also the owner of Storer Mortuary Transport, which is one of the largest mortuary transport service in the state of Ohio. In August of 2018 he semi-retired and sold the business. Michael has devoted his life to the Funeral Business, serving people in their time of need.

Ed is no stranger to the funeral business. He is willing to help us when needed. He shows compassion and dignity.
He and his wife reside in Centerville, Ohio and is owner of Reis Legacy Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Carol Sue Knox
comes to us after retiring from the Greene County Health Department with 27
years in office management, fund raising and serving the needs of others.She and her husband Dale reside at Lake
Shawnee.They have one daughter Debra,
two granddaughters Lauren and Brooke.
Removal Technician / Funeral Attendant
Duane comes to us with many years of experience in the Funeral Business. He has worked for Gerstner-Kinzer Funeral Home and Summers Funeral Home both in Washington Court House, Ohio. He resides in Jeffersonville, Ohio with his wife Tina and granddaughter Riley. The Harper's attend Heritage Memorial Church in Washington Court House. Duane's kindness and knowledge is a great asset to our firm.
Jamestown, Ohio is the hometown of Becky (Roush) Patrick. She has lived here her whole life. She married the love of her life, Dan Patrick, and has been married since 1973. Becky retired from AT&T and The Security National Bank of Jamestown. We are happy to have Becky assisting us here at Powers-Kell Funeral Home.
Herbert D (Herb) Crosswhite
Herbert Crosswhite was born in Washington C.H., Ohio and graduated from Washington High School. After his graduation, his dream was to be a Funeral Director; however, he was drafted into the United States Army, and served three years in the Korea Conflict. After serving in the Army, he assisted with a Funeral Home in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1954, he married Anita L Taylor Crosswhite and they have three children, three grand children, and three great grand children. Herb retired from the United States Postal Service with 30 years of service. In 1999, he retired from the Jamestown Police Department with 29 years of service. He presently is serving on Jamestown Village Counsel. We are very happy to have Herb here at Powers-Kell Funeral Home.
Funeral Attendant / DVD Producer
attends the Greene County Career Center, an honor roll student in the Applied
Health Science class.She is involved in
many activities and club as well as a varsity cheerleading for Greeneview
School both football and basketball.Brooke has received numerous awards for her outstanding community
involvement.Brooke is the producer of
the DVD for families, door greeter and office assistance.
